TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attack), reversible ischaemic neurological deficiency, progressive stroke, completed stroke, post-apoplectic conditions, multiinfarct dementia, cerebral arteriosclerosis, post-traumatic, hypertensive encephalopathy, and other forms of acute and chronic cerebral circulatory insufficiency
For the treatment of mental or neurological problems associated with cerebral insufficiency (e.g., memory disturbances, dizziness, headache, aphasia, apraxia, locomotor disorders etc.).
Ophthalmology: It can be used to treat vascular diseases of the choroid and retina caused by arteriosclerosis, vasospasm, macular degeneration, arterial or venous thrombosis or embolism, and secondary glaucoma.
Otology: Used to treat vascular or toxic (iatrogenic) hearing loss, presbyacusis, Meniere's illness, cochleovestibular neuritis, tinnitus, and labyrinthine dizziness. For the treatment of climacteric syndrome's vasovegetative symptoms.
For the treatment of climacteric syndrome's vasovegetative symptoms.
Cerevas improves cerebral hypoxia tolerance by increasing cerebral metabolism, increasing glucose metabolism to the energetically more favorable aerobic pathway while also increasing the anaerobic pathway, increasing ATP concentration and ATP/AMP ratio in the brain, and elevating cerebral norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin levels.
Cerevas improves cerebral microcirculation significantly by suppressing platelet aggregation, decreasing pathologically elevated blood viscosity, and increasing erythrocyte deformability. It also enhances O2 delivery into tissues by lowering erythrocyte O2 affinity.
It enhances cerebral blood flow and the brain's contribution of cardiac output while lowering cerebral vascular resistance without impacting systemic circulation (blood pressure, heart rate, cardiac output, total peripheral resistance). It does not cause the steal phenomenon; rather, it enhances the blood supply to the damaged and ischemic areas while leaving the intact portions unaffected (inverse steal effect). It raises blood flow even more, which is already enhanced due to hypoxia.
Vinpocetine is given in three split dosages with meals, for a total of 15-30 mg each day. The long-term maintenance dose is 15 mg three times each day.
Those who added Vinpocetine to their Warfarin dosage noticed a slight alteration in prothrombin time. The modifications appear to be minor. So yet, no further interactions have been documented. As a result, it can be used in a variety of ways.
Cerevas should not be used during pregnancy or nursing. It's also not recommended if you're allergic to any of the ingredients.
Vinpocetine is well tolerated by most people. A brief drop in blood pressure and tachycardia may occur in some circumstances.
Not listed as a pregnancy category
Vinpocetine should be avoided by people who have a predisposition to bleed since it reduces the ability of blood to clot.
Drugs that act as a cerebral vasodilator and a neurosensory oxygenator
