Tadalafil is prescribed in-
Tadalafil is a PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitor. PDE5 inhibition raises cGMP levels in smooth muscle cells. cGMP relaxes smooth muscles and increases blood flow to the corpus cavernosum, resulting in penile erection. PDE5 is also found in the smooth muscles of the prostate and bladder wall. Inhibiting PDE5 raises cGMP concentrations, resulting in smooth muscle relaxation in the prostate and bladder. Smooth muscle relaxation may increase blood flow to the urinary system and enlarge the aperture of the bladder neck, resulting in more efficient voiding.
