Fona Plus gel is approved for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in individuals aged 12 and up.
Adapalene & Benzoyl peroxide gel is approved for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in individuals aged 12 and up. Adapalene interacts to particular nuclear retinoic acid receptors but not to cytosolic receptor protein. Adapalene is a regulator of cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammatory processes, according to biochemical and pharmacological profile investigations. Adapalene binds to particular retinoic acid nuclear receptors, which normalizes follicular epithelial cell development, resulting in reduced microcomedone production. Benzoyl peroxide is a bacteriocidal and keratolytic oxidizing agent.
Apply a thin film of Adapalene & Benzoyl peroxide gel to affected areas of the face and/or trunk once daily after washing. Use a pea-sized amount for each area of the face (e.g., forehead, chin, each cheek). Avoid the eyes, lips and mucous membranes. Adapalene & Benzoyl peroxide is not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use.
Pediatric use: The safety and effectiveness of Adapalene and Benzoyl peroxide gel in pediatric patients under the age of 12 years have not been established.
Concomitant topical acne medication should be used with caution due to the possibility of cumulative irritancy, particularly when peeling, desquamating, or abrasive agents are employed. There were no official drug-drug interaction investigations.
Individuals who are hypersensitive to any of its components should not be given it.
There may be erythema, scaling, dryness, and stinging/burning. Dry skin, contact dermatitis, application site burning, application site irritation, and skin irritation are the most often reported adverse effects.
There have been no well-controlled studies of Adapalene with Benzoyl peroxide in pregnant women. Animal reproductive experiments with the combo gel or Benzoyl peroxide have not been undertaken. Furthermore, such studies are not necessarily predictive of human response; as a result, this preparation should only be taken during pregnancy if the possible benefit outweighs the danger to the fetus. Adapalene or Benzoyl peroxide are not known to be excreted in human milk after usage. When administering to a breastfeeding lady, use extreme caution.
Sunlight and sunlamps should be avoided. Wear sunscreen when you can't avoid being out in the sun.
