Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate is prescribed in cases of zinc deficiency and/or zinc loss. Zinc deficiency can be caused by a poor diet or poor absorption. Excessive zinc loss can occur as a result of trauma, burns, diarrhoea, and other protein-depleted conditions. Zinc is also necessary for sexual maturation and reproduction, dark vision adaptation, olfactory and gustatory activity, insulin storage and release, and a variety of immune defenses in the host.
