Becoral Dx tablet from Beximco Pharmaceuticals & Generic is Calcium Carbonate [Coral source] 500mg + Vitamin D3 200IU. This medication is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis, osteomalacia, tetany, hypoparathyroidism, and osteogenesis disorders. Also used as a supplement in cases of insufficient calcium intake in childhood nutrition, rickets, pregnancy and lactation, and geriatric people. Other uses include pancreatitis, phosphate binder in chronic renal failure, and so on.
When hypercalcemia occurs, discontinuation of the drug is usually sufficient to normalize serum calcium levels. Patients with sarcoidosis, kidney or heart disease, and those receiving cardiac glycoside therapy should use calcium with caution. Patients with a history of stone formation should also be advised to increase their fluid intake.
This is a preparation of calcium and vitamin D3, where calcium carbonate is obtained from coral sources. The chemical structure of coral calcium carbonate is very similar to the composition of human bones. Coral calcium is similar to other sources, but it ensures better absorption. Vitamin D3 helps to absorb calcium from the gastrointestinal tract and helps maintain calcium balance in the body.
One tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water or as directed by the physician. Taking in full stomach ensures better absorption.
Oral calcium can reduce the absorption of tetracycline and fluoride preparations, and there should be at least 3 hours between the intake of these drugs. Thiazide diuretics can reduce renal calcium excretion. Phenytoin, barbiturates and glucocorticoids can induce vitamin D3 metabolism. At the same time intake of certain foods, such as spinach, cereals, milk and their derivatives, will reduce the absorption of calcium in the intestines.
Hypercalcemia, hyperparathyroidism, bone metastasis, severe kidney failure, severe hypercalciuria, kidney stones caused by hypersensitivity to any ingredient, vitamin D3 overdose.
Flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, upper gastrointestinal discomfort, etc. They are rare manifestations. Hypercalcemia caused by long-term use is rarely reported.
This can be given to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers on the advice of a doctor.
In the presence of mild hypercalciuria, careful monitoring and dose reduction may be required. In the case of mild to moderate renal insufficiency and long-term use, plasma and serum calcium levels should be monitored. Patients with kidney stones or a history of such diseases should also take preventive measures.
