Algita D tablet from Labaid Pharmaceuticals & Generic is Calcium Carbonate [Coral source] 500mg + Vitamin D3 200IU. This medication is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis, osteomalacia, tetany, hypoparathyroidism, and osteogenesis disorders. Also used as a supplement in cases of insufficient calcium intake in childhood nutrition, rickets, pregnancy and lactation, and geriatric people. Other uses include pancreatitis, phosphate binder in chronic renal failure, and so on.
Indications of Algita D Tablet

Pharmacology of Algita D Tablet
This is a mix of calcium (from algae) and vitamin D3. Calcium (Algae Source) is a necessary element that plays an important role in the body. It strengthens the body's structure by creating bones. Calcium appears to be beneficial in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and related fractures, according to clinical data. Vitamin D3 is particularly important for bone health since it assists in calcium absorption from the GI tract. Furthermore, it promotes bone growth. Clinical trials have shown that calcium plus vitamin D3 have a synergistic impact on bone development, osteoporosis, and fracture prevention.
Dosage & Administration of Algita D Tablet
Usual adult dose: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet at night. Tablet should be taken orally.
Interaction of Algita D Tablet
When it comes to medicine:
- Bisphosphonates, ciprofloxacin, fluorides, iron, levothyroxine, tetracycline, and zinc absorption are all reduced by calcium salts.
- Corticosteroids decrease calcium salt absorption.
- When calcium and vitamin D3 are combined with thiazides and similar diuretics, there is an increased risk of hypercalcemia.
With regard to food and others: There have been no reports of clinically significant dietary medication interactions.
Contraindications
- Hypercalciuria and hypocalcemia
- Calcification in the metastatic site
- Hypersensitivity to either of the calcium and vitamin D3 preparation's components
Side Effects of Algita D Tablet
