This tablet is indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus infection in adults with evidence of aclive viral replication and either evidence of persistent elevations in serum aminotransferases or histologically active disease.
Entecavir may be a guanosine nucleoside simple with powerful and specific movement against HBV polymerase. For pharmacological activity it is phosphorylated to the dynamic triphosphate (TP) shape. Entecavir triphosphate practically restrains all 3 exercises of the viral polymerase-
The recommended dose of Entecavir for chronic hepatitis B virus inlection rn nucleoside-treatment-naive adults and adolescents 16 years of age and older is O.Smg once daily. The recommended dose of Entecavir in adults and adolescents (>16 years of age) with atristory ol hepatitis B viremia while receiving lamivudine is 1mg once daily. Entecavir should be administered on an empty stomach (at leasl 2 hours after a meal and 2 hours before the next meal). Or, as directed by the registered physician.
Since Entecavir is overwhelmingly disposed of by the kidney, coadministration with drugs that diminish renal work or compete for dynamic tubular emission may increment serum concentrations of either sedate.
lt is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component o{ this drug.
The most common side effects of Entecavir treated patients were headache, fatigue, dizziness and nausea
Entecavir should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed and after careful consideration o, the risks anO benefiti. lt is not known whether this drug is excreted in human milk. Mothers should be instructed not to breast{eed if they are taking Entecavir.
Renal lmpairment : Dosage adjustment of Entecavir is recommended for patients with a creatinine clearance<S0ml/min, ingincluding patients on hemodialysis. Hepatic lmpairment : No dosage adjustment ii necessary lor patients with hepatic impairment.
