Cerebrovascular accidents, neoplasms, and degenerative brain disease are all possibilities.
Baclofen inhibits monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflexes in the spinal cord by stimulating GABAB receptors, which block glutamate and aspartate release. It may also cause CNS depression by acting at intraspinal sites. Baclofen has an antinociceptive effect as well.
5 mg three times a day, preferably with or after food, gradually increased to a maximum of 100 mg per day.
If Baclofen is combined with central nervous system depressants, alcohol, or synthetic opiates, increased sedation may occur. Respiratory depression is a possibility as well.
Because combined treatment with Baclofen and antihypertensives is likely to cause a greater drop in blood pressure, the antihypertensive medication dosage should be adjusted accordingly.
Baclofen is not recommended for patients who are hypersensitive to any of the product's ingredients.
Transient drowsiness, daytime sedation, dizziness, weakness, and fatigue are the most common side effects of Baclofen.
Headache (ten percent), insomnia (ten percent), and euphoria, excitement, depression, confusion, hallucinations, paraesthesia, nightmares, muscle pain, tinnitus, slurred speech, co-ordination disorder, tremor, rigidity, dystonia, and ataxia are all symptoms of the central nervous system.

Patients with spasticity, as well as psychotic disorders, schizophrenia, depressive or manic disorders, or confusional states, should be treated with caution and closely monitored, as these disorders may worsen.
