Indications of Zolfin
In osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, toothache, trauma, and lumbago, aceclofenac is used to relieve pain and inflammation.
Pharmaceutical Name of Zolfin
Pharmacology
Zolfin is a non-steroidal analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication. It's a strong inhibitor of the cyclooxygenase enzyme, which is involved in prostaglandin synthesis. It is rapidly and completely absorbed after oral administration, leaving the drug unchanged.
Dosage & Administration of Zolfin
Extended release tablet: The recommended dose in adults is one 200 mg Aceclofenac tablet daily or as prescribed by the physician.
Film coated tablet: The recommended dose in adults is 100 mg, twice daily.
Interaction of Zolfin
Although no significant medication interactions have been found, patients must be closely monitored when it is used with:
- Lithium with Digoxin: Lithium and digoxin concentrations in the blood may rise.
- Diuretics: Diuretics may interact with each other.
- Anticoagulants: Anticoagulant action may be enhanced by the use of anticoagulants.
- Methotrexate: may increase the plasma level of methotrexate.
Contraindications
Zolfin is not recommended for those who have a known hypersensitivity to it or who have asthma attacks triggered by aspirin or NSAIDs.
